Addressing the mental health crisis through Lifestyle Medicine

Free recording

Explore the evidence for and application of lifestyle as medicine for mental health conditions.

Around 1 in 7 Australian adults today are taking antidepressant medications, which is evidence for the mental health crisis we are facing. While medications have an important role to play, there is overwhelming evidence that numerous lifestyle-related factors are beneficial for the prevention, management and treatment of mental health conditions, especially affective disorders. In this webinar we shall explore these lifestyle factors and how they can be implemented to benefit people suffering from mental health conditions.

Learning Outcomes

Through this webinar participants will gain an understanding of:

  1. The current mental health crisis.

  2. Lifestyle-based approaches for improving mental health and wellbeing.

  3. Practical ways of implementing lifestyle-based interventions in clinical and non-clinical settings for the promotion of mental health and wellbeing.
