About the presenter
Dr Andrew Bradbeer
Respiratory, Sleep Medicine, and General Medicine Specialist
Dr Andrew Bradbeer
Dr Andrew Bradbeer is the founder and CEO of Manse Medical and a distinguished Respiratory, Sleep Medicine, and General Medicine Specialist. Dr Bradbeer completed his specialty training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, followed by advanced training at The Royal Brompton Heart and Lung Hospital in London.
In 2004, he relocated to Hamilton to establish his practice in a rural setting, offering his three young children the opportunity to experience life in country Australia. Fast-forward in time, his family grew to a family of five children, and more recently, he became a proud grandfather, too.
Dr Bradbeer now primarily focuses on sleep medicine, with clinical expertise and interests encompassing non-respiratory sleep disorders such as insomnia, parasomnias (sleepwalking, sleep paralysis, nightmares), narcolepsy and body-clock disorders, sleep-related movement disorders, along with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. He maintains an interest in the management of sub-acute and chronic respiratory disorders, including asthma, lung cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Under his leadership, Manse Medical has developed multiple sleep and lung function testing laboratories in underserviced areas, significantly improving access to these essential services. Dr Bradbeer works with a team of specialist doctors and health practitioners, as well as partner organisations and health services across Victoria. Tasmania, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. He is dedicated to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare services to remote communities as well as to disadvantaged people in major population centres. He is also committed to mentoring other specialists and training clinical staff to work in the lung function and sleep laboratories he operates.
Dr Bradbeer is also a sought-after speaker on health and wellness topics, sharing his insights and expertise with those interested in these areas.
When not helping his patients or mentoring other specialists, Dr Bradbeer enjoys cooking. He starts with a recipe but often improvises, believing the final dish always resembles the original. He loves reading, and while he appreciates literary works, he finds crime novels (by Ian Rankin, Jane Harper, Jo Nesbo) and fantasy (by Brandon Sanderson) the most rejuvenating. According to his wife, he especially enjoys activities involving salt water. On a good weekend, you can find him paddleboarding, swimming, or windsurfing.
